#WeddingWednesday: Incorporate Your Favorite Films in Your Wedding

With so many notable movies in existence, it would be hard not to incorporate some inspiration from them into your wedding day. But how can you go about doing this? Depending on how much you would like to include in your day, the elements that you may want movie-themed may vary. Here are a few different ideas you can use for your day. You may elect to use one or even multiple. Either way, make sure you incorporate as much or as little of your favorite film or films into your day.

If you are having a photo booth at your reception you can have props utilizing themes from your favorite film. Incorporating film inspiration into your photo booth is subtle but every guest that steps into the photo booth will know the theme as soon as they step inside. This can include signs with quotes, masks, or even hats from your favorite movie.

Maybe you want to incorporate your favorite film in a more private way. One way to do this is during your couples photos. As seen in the image below where the couple is in a boat reminiscent of the movie, The Notebook, you can use inspiration from a favorite scene in your photos. All you need is to find the props to fulfill your scene dreams and a professional photographer with the style you want to help your dreams come to life.

Some venues may be destined for your wedding day. If you love the film, Titanic, there is a Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri, as seen pictured below, that houses a replica of the famed staircase from the ship. If you wanted a Harry Potter or Disney inspired wedding then Harry Potter World located in Universal Studios or Disney World/Disney Land are the venues for you. Of course, depending on where you live, these may be more of a destination wedding for you but if you truly want to be immersed in your film theme then these are definitely the way to go.

If you don’t want to or it’s not in the budget to have a destination wedding at a venue based in the world of your favorite film, there is another option to fully immerse your guests in your wedding theme. You can transform the venue you select into a scene from the film. The photo below depicts the great hall from the Harry Potter series.

Make sure your guests know the theme from the very beginning of the reception. Name your tables as characters or other elements from your favorite film. Create themed table cards or a seating chart to display before your guests walk into the reception.

From Star Wars to Titanic, movies have a lasting impact on many people. Whether it’s a romance, a comedy or a cult classic movies are a great piece to incorporate in your wedding day especially if they have an important meaning to you.
