#WeddingWednesday: Ceremony Inspiration

Your wedding ceremony is the primary piece of your wedding day as it is when you and your partner will promise yourselves to one another.  Most likely you will want the moment you walk down the aisle to be picture perfect as all eyes will be on you.  Here is some beautiful ceremony inspiration to utilize when planning your big day.  The goal is to have the decor accent your day rather than detract or take over your day.

Delicately light up the aisle by lining it with candles.  Ensure that the wall which will be behind you is lit up with candles as well to get the full candlelit effect.  Like the couple did in the photo below you can add different elements to the wall to highlight the ceremony space.  This couple used block words to say “You + Me” symbolizing the union they are forming.  They also added some greenery to add some color to the space.  When placing candles on the floor of the aisle be careful that your dress will not get caught in the flames.  If possible ensure that the candles have enough coverage or use LED candles.

For your aisle runner, use petals.  They will create a beautiful, airy look for the aisle.  Just make sure your guests do not walk on them before you do by blocking off the center aisle.  This couple utilized tall candles and floating candles to create their display.  This kept the candles out of harm’s way and ensured an elegant display.

Line the aisle with a simple, white aisle liner and floating candles.  Save the decorations for the ceremony area.  The couple here covered their arch with flowers and white drapery.  They hung a chandelier to add elegance to their backdrop.  There are two pillars with flowers that complete the picturesque area.

Let nature do the work in creating your ceremony decorations. Create an arch with branches and surround your designated area with rocks.  If you would like an aisle runner so you won’t get your dress too dirty or sink your heels into the ground use a carpet to keep the area sturdy.

If you want a simpler look for your aisle.  Put small stumps next to each or every other row and place a potted flower in your colors on each stump.  This will give your wedding a simplistic, elegant, and rustic feel.

Another simple decoration for your aisle is to put a sash on every end or every other end chair.  Wrap some flowers in the sash for a beautifying touch.  Line the sides of the aisle with petals so there is some color on the ground as well.

If you are a film or Star Wars fanatic this aisle decoration is perfect for you.  Get an aisle runner with romantic verbiage on it in famous Star Wars fashion.  It is a simple way to include the popular franchise in your day.
