#Feature Friday: Avon Industrial Park’s Picnic in the Park
The Avon Industrial Park Association (AIPA) will host their sixth annual Picnic in the Park on October 5 this year. As in years past, the event will be held at Weiss Sheet Metal, a member of the association, at 105 Bodwell Street under the tent. The event will be held from 11:00 A.M to 2:30 P.M. Come on down to learn more about the AIPA and look at exhibits from a variety of members.
The association was established in 2010 by business and property owners within the park to address common issues and to better communicate with town officials. It is a non-profit group which includes companies such as Linehan Photography, Restaurant Depot, and Waste Management. To become a voting member of the association a business must be located within the park. Non-voting membership is open to businesses located within Avon but not in the park and also those that are located outside of Avon. There are membership costs which vary depending on the business’ location. Benefits of being a part of the association include networking, economic development, providing a forum for public matters and the beautification and improvement of the Avon Industrial Park.
B.C. Tent and Awning is a member of the AIPA (our owner Bob Costa is even the president!) and will be providing many of the rentals for the event this year as we have done previously. We will be providing chairs, tables, a fill ‘n chill, the grill, a stage, and of course the tents! We love being a part of this organization that benefits the Avon Industrial Park and the community as a whole. We love our home and enjoy seeing it thrive and grow.
