#WeddingWednesday: Disney Wedding Inspiration

Always dreamed of having the perfect fairy tale wedding?  The best way to have the fairy tale wedding of your dreams is to incorporate the original fairy tale giant: Disney.  Disney is known as the most magical place on Earth so why wouldn’t you want to incorporate it into the most magical wedding on Earth?  There are a large amount of Disney fairy tales to gain inspiration from. Here are some ideas from the films that you can use for the perfect Disney wedding!

Immerse your guests in the magical world of Disney by naming your tables after your favorite Disney movies or characters.  If you’re having a smaller wedding of about 110 guests or less and are an avid Disney princess fan, you can just use the eleven official Disney princesses.  If you are having more guests you can get more creative.  You can stick to just one movie if there are enough characters for the amount of tables you have or you can choose all of your favorite movies.  As in the picture below, add a quote from the movie or specific character to further personalize the table.

Add Disney inspired romance to your sweetheart table by getting Disney toasting glasses.  These Beauty and the Beast toasting glasses encompass the romantic aspect of the movie perfectly and are an elegant and picturesque piece to add to your table.

Expose your guests to the theme of the day from the very beginning by incorporating Disney signage into the event.  As everyone who has seen Alice in Wonderland knows the Mad Hatter loves to have tea parties.  Signal the start to cocktail hour with a sign, creating an easy transition from the ceremony to cocktail hour.

Create a moment that will last a lifetime by taking a Disney inspired photo.  This photo is reminiscent of the scene in Cinderella when the clock strikes twelve and Cinderella leaves her shoe behind as she rushes off to leave the ball.  It compares the bride to Cinderella and the groom to Prince Charming, as they should be on their day.

Ever heard of the hidden Mickeys that can be seen throughout the Disney parks?   Include some of your own hidden Mickeys like the bride did below!  You can easily include them in the bouquets, the cake, the centerpieces, etc.  See how many of your guests notice them.

Your centerpieces are the easiest place to include Disney wedding inspiration.  One of the more romantic, elegant and popular centerpieces that couples include on their wedding day is the enchanted rose from Beauty and the Beast.  This centerpiece is extremely simplistic.  You can easily include one rose on each table with petals of the same color surrounding it.  You do not necessarily need the dome if you do not want to.  Other ideas include the apple from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the lantern with Tinker Bell in it from Peter Pan, the coach from Cinderella, etc.

One of the many focal points on your wedding is the cake.  It is part of a well photographed moment as you and your partner cut the cake.  This couple chose a subtle The Little Mermaid themed cake.  This cake is perfect for a beach wedding and can be transformed for a more formal event by putting Ariel and Eric on top instead of the starfish.
