#FeatureFriday: Multicultural Business Forum and Business After Hours

#FeatureFriday: Metro South Chamber of Commerce and The Perfect Place’s Multicultural Business Forum & Business After Hours

A night of networking will be held by the Metro South Chamber of Commerce and The Perfect Place on Thursday, February 23rd.  This second annual multicultural event will take place at The Perfect Place in Brockton after business hours from 5pm to 8pm and will feature a multi-cultural business forum.

The chamber of commerce promotes the interests of businesses in Brockton and its surrounding areas.  They have been assisting the community for about 104 years now.  In 1913, due to the changing times and growing need for diversity in the local economy the Brockton Chamber of Commerce was born.  During the 1960s, the chamber sponsored a citizens’ survey which brought about many benefits including the Brockton Area Multi-Services Center (BAMSI).  The chamber reorganized in the 1970s, adding new divisions and an expanded overall mission.  In 1988 the Metro South Chamber of Commerce purchased and renovated the Edison Power Station which is the current home of the chamber of commerce.  The building has a meeting space and a Business Assistance Center to help Metro South businesses continue to grow.  They continuously host events each year at local businesses. The purpose of their events is to allow businesses to introduce themselves to other businesses.  This helps businesses create a network for them to gain new clients and build a sustainable business.

The event has an exciting itinerary for attendees to enjoy throughout the evening.  The event will kick off with a Business Resource Expo and Networking opportunity at 5 pm.  This will allow attendees to learn more about the resources available to help begin to start and grow your business.  Experts will be available during this time to provide assistance for a variety of topics including financing, developing a business plan, marketing a business, and winning government contracts.

The Business After Hours Networking portion of the event will begin at 6:15 pm.  This will allow business owners to meet hundreds of new potential clients.  Everyone in attendance will be able to enjoy food from The Perfect Place, a cash bar, and the chance to win prizes.  Business owners should bring their business cards to the event so that they can easily share their contact information for the people that they meet.
