#WeddingWednesday: Programs

#WeddingWednesday: Programs

Weddings provide the opportunity for you to be creative.  One great way to foreshadow the creativity you put into your day from the very beginning is with unique programs.  These can be as silly, serious or practical as you would like.  The programs should encompass the theme of the event and highlight who you and your partner are as a couple.

If your wedding takes place in the heat of the summer and will be held outside, you will want to try and keep your guests as cool as possible.  Make it easier on both your budget and your guests by purchasing fans that also act as the programs for the day!  Not only will your guests appreciate the thought but they will also love that you gave them something they can use during the ceremony instead of simply hold onto.

If you would prefer the traditional paper programs but would like to add some creativity, this program may be the one for you.  Add some cute quirks to your program like this couple did.  They are clearly Star Wars and princess fans as they called their ring bearer the “ring jedi” and their flower girls “flower princesses.”  They were also sure to mention their “furry family” who were unable to attend the event.  Also, they put an “in loving memory” section to mention those who have passed away.  If you have a hashtag make sure you mention it in your program to ensure that people know from the very start what to use on social media.

Instead of handing out programs to every guest in attendance, place a program board in a place visible at the entrance of the ceremony space.  This way you will save money and no one will miss the basket of programs sitting at the front.

For simplicity, have programs with just the order of events and members of the wedding party.  Add a thank you message to the end so all of your guests know just how important their attendance is.

If you are having a rustic wedding and want a program board, use a wooden pallet to list the order of events.  It will showcase your theme from the very beginning.  Plus, it is relatively inexpensive to get a wooden pallet and some paint.  You’ll just need to sand it down and make sure it is legible and appears presentable.

Would you prefer a program that is interactive for your guests?  Including an infographic on your programs will have your guests interested from the very beginning.  Break the ice by showing just how far your guests have come to witness your nuptials.  This will create a great conversation starter. starter.

If you plan to have your guests shower you with confetti following the ceremony why not include it with your program?  Get personalized bags to hold the confetti, including the program on the outside.  Make sure you include when the confetti toss will be so your guests will be prepared.
