#WeddingWednesday: Keeping the Kids Involved in the Wedding Day Fun
If you are including kids on the guest list for your wedding day, you will want to make sure they are having just as much fun as the adults. This includes giving them activities to do during the entirety of the event. Including them in the traditional wedding activities would also be a great way to get them involved in the fun. Keep the kids involved in the wedding day fun with these great ideas.
One unique idea is to make a game out of the day. Give the kids in attendance a list of things that will be included in your wedding day and a disposable camera. Then send them on an I Spy mission to find all of the items on the list. They’ll enjoy every aspect of the wedding day and perhaps notice things that the adults wouldn’t.
Have the kids make a card for you and your partner. If you are not having a kids table you can set up a station with a sign as seen below. Put a basket of crayons and some blank pieces of paper on the table and watch how the kids respond!
If you are having a kids table make sure there are plenty of crayons and paper to keep them busy throughout the event. Get personalized coloring pages to keep all of the coloring fun under the theme of the event.
Not only do kids love glow sticks but adults do too. Light up the night while enjoying your time with all of your guests on your wedding day. Keep the kids involved and happy by dancing with them on the dance floor and ensuring everyone gets a glow stick. Make sure that you get enough glow sticks for everyone but not too many that you will be bringing a pack home at the end of the night.
Instead of chancing the possibility of getting your wedding linens ruined, use a large roll of paper to cover the table. Depending on the age of the kids on your guest list this could be incredibly useful. They can color on the table without creating any damage.
Are you serving cupcakes on your wedding day? Order some plain vanilla and chocolate cupcake variations for the kids. Get some painters palettes and place the cupcakes in the middle at dessert time. Purchase some toppings for the cupcakes and let the kids make their own! They will thoroughly enjoy the fun of making a cupcake that is all their own.
If the adults are having after dinner drinks then let the kids have a special treat too! You can never go wrong with milk and cookies. The kids will feel just as special as everyone else and thoroughly enjoy their treats.
