The Boston Irish Festival Will Be Immersing Canton in Irish Culture in June

Boston Irish Festival

June appears to be a lucky month for Canton, Massachusetts.  Every year, The Irish Cultural Centre’s Boston Irish Festival comes around in June celebrating the art and culture of Ireland.  It was previously held at Stonehill College but moved to Canton in 2004.  The event will be held from June 4-5, 2016 this year.  The event location is at the Centre’s headquarters at 200 New Boston Drive in Canton.  It will be held from 11 A.M – 11 P.M. on Saturday, June 4 and from 11 A.M. – 9 P.M. on Sunday, June 5. We have been providing the tents and other rental supplies for this event for more than 20 years now.  This year will be a special one for the festival as they are also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the festival itself and the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Uprising which led to Ireland’s independence from England.  The Irish Cultural Centre has ensured that this year will be the most impressive yet by securing the talents of co-producers Pat McDonough and Ciaran Nagleha to plan the event.

This year we will be providing several tents, tables and chairs for the Boston Irish Festival. There will be many different stages set up so that music performances will constantly be occurring throughout the two day event. The tents are ranging in size from 9′ wide vendor tents up to our massive 60’x120′ high peak pole tent. We will provide more than 12 tents for the event this year which will be used for vendors, places to sit and eat in the shade, shopping tents, and tents to cover the performance stages and families viewing the musical talents.

One of the focal points of the event is the live music.  This year The Wolfe Tones are headlining and John McDermott will be performing, both of which come directly from Ireland. The Cunningham Family, Andy Cooney and many more artists will be featured.  The Wolfe Tones are celebrating their 50th year on tour and added special extra tour dates just to be a part of the Boston Irish Festival! Here is a link for a Full Schedule of Musical Performances. This event is for people of all ages.

Irish Festival Music

This year there will be all kinds of children’s activities including Cape Cod Inflatables, Free Clydesdale Hay Rides, Magic Shows, and face painting. There will also be Viking Irish demonstrations and Irish Sports Games will be put on by the Gaelic Athletic Association.  There will be plenty of authentic Irish food and products to buy. The festival is once again sponsored by Guinness, so the pints will be poured all weekend for 21+ guests to enjoy.  This event is handicapped accessible so all can join in the fun with ease!

Irish Setters
Once again this year, the Irish Wolfhounds Association will display a fine assortment of Irish Setters

This year’s Irish Festival is sure to impress so be sure to bring the whole family! If you arrive early and are one of the first 2,500 guests you will get a free swag bag which includes free samples and a sponsorship/coupon book.
