B.C. Tent & Awning provides tents for “Haru Matsuri” Boston 2012; First Japanese Spring Festival draws estimated 10,000 people

AVON, MA, ISSUED MAY 3, 2012…B.C. Tent & Awning, the region’s leading provider of tents, awnings and accessories, provided tenting for “Haru Matsuri” Boston 2012, held April 29th at Copley Square Park.
B.C. Tent & Awning provided a 30×40 foot tent; five 9×50-foot tents; five 9×10-foot tents, in addition B.C. Tent contracted portable facilities, a 40-foot stage banner and all electrical work for the event that drew an estimated 10,000 people.
Held as part of “The Greater Boston-Japan Cherry Blossom Festival” the daylong event commemorated the 100th anniversary of the original gift of cherry trees from Japan to Washington D.C. In addition, it allowed organizers from the local Japanese community to express gratitude for the relief efforts and support for the victims of the March, 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
The Festival – the largest event ever organized by the local Japanese community – presented an opportunity for families from throughout the Greater Boston area to enjoy Japanese food and entertainment and learn about the Japanese culture.
