Embracing Your Inner Geek on Your Wedding Day

#WeddingWednesday: Embracing Your Inner Geek on Your Wedding Day

Want to embrace your inner geek on your wedding day without going overboard?  There are so many areas where you can add your own personal touch to your wedding day without it seeming like too much.  Here is some geeky inspiration to help you out.

If you love Dr. Who, the Tardis is the perfect piece to add to your wedding decor.  This couple chose to use it as a vase for their matching flowers creating an elegantly geeky centerpiece.  They also used seating cards for their wedding and included mini Tardis’ for the stands.

This is the perfect way to incorporate both a traditional wedding and your inner geek.   Have your cake vendor decorate one side of the cake as a traditional wedding cake and the other side as your favorite geeky characters. If the bride wants tradition and the groom wants his favorite superheroes in cake form then this is the perfect happy medium between the two.

If you really want to show all of your guests just how geeky you can be label each of your tables with a geeky theme whether it be a character, television show or movie and then geek out your entire place card board to match.

A common trend for the groom and groomsmen is to wear superhero shirts underneath their tuxedos.  This allows for a cute photo moment that you will be able to look back on in the years to come.

If you would like to incorporate a short, romantic quote into your wedding put it on signs on the back of your chairs.  This conversation from Harry Potter shows just how much Lily Potter meant to Severus Snape.  You could also use the conversation from Star Wars where Leia says “I love you” and Han says “I know” symbolizing how he always knew that they were meant to be.

These wedding toasting flutes have beautiful writing on them in the Elvish language from The Lord of the Rings series.  They will add an elegant touch to your wedding reception and unless they adore the series themselves, your guests will never know the reference, subtly allowing your inner geek to shine through.
