Here at B.C. Tent we thoroughly enjoy giving back to the community. We have a long time relationship with Catholic Charities South and are so happy to be supporting their annual City of Champions Toy Drive at the Shaws Center in Brockton again this year. We have donated a tent for the drive where over 1000 families will receive gifts that have been donated and collected by members of our community including parishes, companies and individuals. To produce this event, Catholic Charities South has joined up with Brockton Mayor Linda M. Balzotti, The Brockton Rox/Shaws Center, HarborOne Credit Union, and Toys for Tots.
“Working together, we are able to bring the joy of the holiday season to many local families,” said Mayor Linda M. Balzotti. “I am thankful for the collaboration and enthusiasm of Catholic Charities and the Brockton Rox for helping make this toy drive an annual success.”
“These remain challenging economic times, and we who have been blessed should do what we can to help those facing adversity, said HarborOne CEO, Jim Blake. “We welcome any and all contributions from the community and appreciate those who have already made a commitment to helping those in need.”
Additional donations of new and unwrapped toys for children ages 0-13 can be dropped off at the Brockton branches of HarborOne Credit Union (68 Legion Parkway, 1601 Main Street, 820 North Main Street, 443 Belmont Street and 770 Oak Street), Catholic Charities South (169 Court Street) or The Shaw’s Center.
“Catholic Charities South has been distributing gifts at Christmas for decades. When the opportunity was presented to collaborate with members of the Brockton community three years ago, we were enthusiastic to participate,” said Catholic Charities South Director Beth Chambers. “Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly year round to meet the very basic needs of our neighbors and this event is our way of saying thank you to them for allowing us into their lives.”
Volunteers are still needed to assist with the drive!!
